This short Blog is about Paying Compliments to Others and Appreciating Compliments from Others.
In these stressful times, we need to Upsize our Compliments as healing ointment for our societal bruises.
Since young, I taught my kids three important words – “Please, Thanks, Sorry”. For more of this, please read my “Please, Thanks, Sorry” blog. Unfortunately, I don’t hear much of these magical words in daily conversations these days. Who knows how many goodies (blessings) I received just because I untiringly uttered those magic words along my Life journey?
When a friend surprises me with a nice compliment or present, the words “Thank You” leaves my mouth within three seconds.
Every time someone (with gravitas) pays me a nice compliment, I sometimes reply, “I Don’t Mind You Saying That At All.”
Do not compare yourself with others, compare yourself with the one you were yesterday.
In your menu de repas of compliments, may I suggest starting things off with a sweet heart-warming Smile?
Make someone smile today. The reciprocal smile will put extra bounces in your steps for the rest of the day.

“Good Day, Mate” (above image). My “Father’s Day” gift from my family. I see this cheerful used US car license plate (registered Dec 2018) greeting every day at a special, serene, wise corner of my home. A cheerful Aussie residing in Michigan?
I love this simple, cheery, thoughtful way Australians greet each other.
Always pay compliments, it’s free. And the rewards are immense.
We’ve heard that if we have nothing nice to say about someone or something, it’s best to remain silent. Silence is Power.
Do not judge what you do not fully understand.
A rude person may not have had a great day or week.
“Death ends a life, but it does not end a relationship.” – Robert Anderson.
“The quality of your relationships ultimately is what determines your life.” – Esther Perel, therapist.
“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm. As you get older, remember you have another hand; the first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” – Audrey Hepburn.
If you have something to say or give a loved one, Do It Now! Life has a tendency to throw curve balls. Case in point: I just dropped birthday presents (Rolling Stones Hawaiian shirt etc.) to my brother a month before his actual birthday. That way, he has an extra month to enjoy his presents.
I leave you with this wisdom – “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward.
“GUDAYM8!”
