21 August 2026, Friday, was a night filled with Great Songs, Grand Performance, Renewed Friendship, and Much Ink (signatures)! The magnificent Debbie Gibson and her talented and fun Merrymakers of Music returned to Singapore for a grand performance.
Thanks to Steve Frejek (and Danny Stanton) for setting me up for the concert shoot. So great to catch up with her band and dancers – Adam, Ariel, Phil, Tim, Buddy, Eddie, and Stepp. A spectacular and fun night was to be had!
The last time Debbie Gibson performed in Singapore was 28 April 2024. That was a significant concert for me because an image that I captured at the concert was featured in Debbie Gibson’s best-selling memoir – “Eternally Electric”. See below image.
Below is the “Much Ink” segment of my blog.

Debbie Holds Court With Her Adoring Fans (above image).

The Star (above image). I love her white stage attire and the radiance of her performance come through. A picture of pure concentration. The white radiance emitting from her white hat. One of my favourite photographic moments from the concert.
Debbie was only 16 when her first album “Out Of The Blue” was released. This is Debbie’s fourth decade in the tough music industry. As of 2025, she has sold over 16 million albums worldwide.
I like to think that this singular image of concentration encapsulates the stoic focus and determined stamina which explains why Debbie still does what she lovingly does – performing for her adoring fans and putting out great music!

Debbie Intermingles With Her Fans (above image). A standard beloved segment of Debbie’s show.

I Call This Image, “Tina Turner” (above image). Debbie’s too fast for my Canon R3 mirrorless camera? So happens that Debbie loves Tina. I know this because Debbie told me!

“Newstalgia Tour Singapore” Soundcheck (above image). A nice trusting bond between performer and photographer, knowing I’ll deliver the poignant visual goods.

Pre-Concert Chilling In The Band’s Room (above image). “Shooting” the breeze with Stepp, Adam and Ariel. To quote a REM song, “That’s me in the corner”.
