dollYayoi! I simply have to ask – Y. This is my Blog Tribute to two Gorgeous Giants of the Music and Art Worlds – Dolly Parton and Yayoi Kusama. They left us suddenly, much too soon.
We lost both Beacons of Soothing Lights in close successions – Yayoi Kusama (97 years young on 14 August 2026) and Dolly Parton (80 years young on 25 August 2026). They radiated Light to the world and when they left, the world became a little darker.
I have often told my friends – It’s not how Long you live, that’s up to God’s pleasure. More importantly, it’s how Deep you live, what you do with your Life. How much depth did you dwell? Or for some, how High you fly. Fame chooses you, not you choose fame. How humble are you? Do not die forgotten.
Both Dolly Parton and Yayoi Kusama went stoically against the grain in a male dominated field of Art. Do Google to see their amazing, vast body of artistic works.

My Dolly Parton “Rockstar” CD (above image). Dolly Parton, a country music icon, was ironically inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. At first, she declined the offer of the highly-coveted induction. She released her Rockstar album only after her induction in 2023. Well played, Dolly!
