The Best Camera is the One you have in Your Hand at the Crucial Moment when you Need it.
For me currently, it’s the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The following are the scenes and occasions when I witnessed compelling awesomeness, and I did have the handy Camera, in my pocket, to capture the moment!
To me, the Camera is merely an obedient Servant to your observant Eye. You make the camera great, the camera does not make you great. Your subservient Camera awaits your next visual adventure!
I used to rely on compact cameras but these days the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera or other Phone Cameras these days punches above their weight in terms of responsiveness, clarity and accuracy. And it fits into our pockets, ready to be summoned to capture our golden moments.
You must always be at One with your Camera, knowing its idiosyncrasies, its strengths, its weakness.
I always say my Ministry is Photography. I use it to bless people around me. Put smiles in their faces, show them a side of them (flattering) they have not yet seen.
I will take a few shots at close friends’ wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, a few shots when they enter their new home for the first time after getting the keys, take a nice shot of their new business premises, take their portraits, or just take memorable wefies during meet-ups for fun meals etc.
If you’ve been given a God-given Talent, go Bless others with your talent especially those who have done something nice or meaningful for you.
Kindness Begets Kindness. I am amazed at people who have not had the time for you or lifted a hand to help you before, can come asking for something dear from you. No give, no get. You must first sow, then the harvest comes. It always starts with you.
Enjoy what the spontaneous moments I saw and captured with my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Self-Portrait (above image). Just after I parked my car, the mirrors retracted and I saw myself in the reflection. Nice mood, interesting composition. Snap.

Group Portrait of Church Congregation (above image). Once I was entrusted by the Head Pastor of my church to take a group portrait of the congregation. I agreed to do so readily, knowing I had my trusty iPhone in my pocket. No stress, I was used to being up on stage, I had confidence in my iPhone, the church lights were sufficient, I had confidence to get the required shot with the appropriate camera settings.
It took me 32 seconds in all to get up from my pew seat to the time I returned to my seat. Chop chop.
Hint: I joke with my friends – always say “Yes” to your Church Pastor’s request. Saying “No” may jeopardise your “fast-track” to Heaven. Kidding.

On 12 August 2025 (yesterday), I celebrated my birthday. My good friend, Violet Kwan, the locally renown founder of Lana Cakes gifted a freshly baked personalised birthday cake for me(above image) and delivered it promptly to my home. Fresh off the oven!
That night, I wanted to reciprocate her kindness with a signed portrait print of her that I shot (with iPhone 12 Pro Max) two years earlier (17 July 2023).
The next day (13 August) I signed the freshy printed portrait (image below) and delivered it to her home at 12:05pm. Hours later, Violet sent me a pix with my framed print promptly displayed in her home!

Violet Kwan may be 96 years young (above image) but she puts people half her age to shame, in terms of her energy and alertness.
I told her today (13 August) that what she promises, she delivers. I gravitate towards kind and reliable people like that. Kudos to Violet!
As I tell my friends, if you are able to distinguish between the forthcoming Givers and the withholding Takers in your Life, and only focus on the Givers, your Life will be more pleasant and less complicated.

Greenwood Fish Market Birthday Dinner Celebrations (above image). That night (13 August) I was invited to share birthday celebrations with David (dad) and Alan (son, photo bomber) Lee, the birthday boys, at their seaside seafood restaurant on Sentosa island. With two outlets, they manage the best fish restaurants in Singapore,

Greenwood Fish Market Birthday Dinner Celebrations (above image). Nothing like enjoying scrumptious seafood spreads by the sea with fun dinner guests and yachts bobbing along with the tides a few feet away. Nice long table array of jolly guests. Needless to say, my side of the long table was the rowdier side of the festivities.

My buddy Khit at his about-to-open gym (above image). I wanted to shoot this to bring him luck for his business ventrure.

My buddy Alfred Lim a.k.a. Chewbacca (above image). Friendly as he may be, it is not my habit to get into an elevator with a naked galactic creature.

Nut Case 1 – Budgie (above image). A friend gifted me an irresistible bag of peanuts from Indonesia. While I was gorging the peanuts, I noticed some with weird shapes which spoke to me.

“Spunky” (above image). Whilst driving along the Great Ocean Road in Australia with my family, we stopped at a seaside resort. I asked a passing biker to take a shot of my family but he cheekily took a shot of himself first. Cool spunky attitude and shot. I feature this pix as a tribute to “Spunky”. Hope he sees this fun pix one fine slurpy day.
Have an adventurous time with your trusty Phone Camera!
