F.A.M.I.L.Y. = Father And Mother I Love You. This acronym suddenly popped into my mind this afternoon. Funny how random the brain works. So I waste no time typing out my Tribute to my late Parents, John and Jenny now while the key points are still fresh in my mind. I am not a should-have, could-have, would-have kind of guy, I just get it done (written). Life is too short for regrets. So enjoy this “instant karma” blog.
Since we are in the mid-point of celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, this is a tribute blog for all Parents (biological, adoptive, single, step/foster/god-parents etc).
As a Father, I also want to pay a Tribute to my Family – to my Mom and Dad, to my Wife who have been a loving ad supportive and to my Kids who have been an absolute pleasure to see growing up to be fine, sensible, bright, upright and God-fearing adults. Once I reminded my kids how lucky they are, never to see their parents in a shouting match. Not once! Disagreement yes, shouting no. 2025 is our 30th wedding anniversary!
My parents have been very supportive of my artistic gifts since young.

When I was interviewed by Singapore’s leading newspaper Straits Times (since 1845), I made it a point to include my Parent’s picture (above image). What can I say, my Folks are stylish people.
Family is top-tier priority to me. When I retyred, I fired my Career and put Family in its place.

My talented Daughter’s drawing of the Sung Family (above image). She captured the essence of our personalities.

Another of my Daughter’s drawing of the Sung Family (above image). See aging paper edge.
Although both human and AI images (top and bottom images) are wonderful depictions of the Sung Family, frankly I prefer my daughter’s soulful minimal line drawing. The AI rendition was done a month ago by a friend, my daughter did the drawing years ago.

My kids will testify that I have NEVER missed any major important events in their lives (above image) – graduations, tennis tournaments, baptisms, etc. When they were young, we went for vacations twice a year. We spent Christmas in Bethlehem, enjoyed Disneylands, ate lunch in a pool with hammerhead sharks swimming around us at a Hawaiian hotel, visited 12 Hard Rock Cafes by the time they were 10 years old etc. These days, they either travel for business or with their friends. Thanks Patrick T for the AI graphics (top and below).

The Sungs still enjoy occasional meals at the dining table at home every week (above image).
Every Father’s Day, my kids know that I treasure their hand-written appreciative cards (my annual Daddy evaluations), drawn by my artistic daughter, which will end up as book marks in my Bible, after all it’s a book of love.

Every birthday (mine), Christmas and Father’s days, I wake up to my presents and cards from my family on a table next to my bed when my eyes see sunshine. Refer to my “I Am Not A Morning Person” pin and weathered genuine US “GOT2BME” license plate (above image). I still get my loving, healing Hugs from my wife and kids every day, to this day!
