This is a blog about being the Fun You, never neglect the Child in All of Us. As we get older, we tend to be all-serious, all wealth-consuming, all profit-maximising. We always forget to take ourselves less seriously.
We think we are being scutinised by others but in reality they have their own fires to put out. 90% of which are usually self-inflicted.
On 21-23 November, Friday-Sunday, I spent three days of glorious fun, hanging out at the annual Vintage Toy Market event, with like-minded toy-collecting friends (with big “childs” in them). Caught up with old friends and made new ones. Saying Yo! to Donovan, Selena, Derrick, Carol, Jeffrey, Naomi, Edwina, Jeremy, Andy, Jason, Joseph, Lilian, Jerome, Leonard. Ray, Azhari, Daniel, Jovin and Shannon.
I must say, I have selected my friends carefully over the decades, quality not quantity. Whether they are global icons (legends), or career-professionals or creative artists, they all have no egos and have a big child in them. My Tribe. I always try to make new fun friends on a weekly basis.
This year (2025) is the third such event organised by my buddy Donovan Goh, owner of the famous retrolicious Old Habits restaurant at SAFRA Mount Faber.

The feedback from this year’s event was overwhelmingly positive and mega-encouraging. The vendors are all looking forward to the 2026 event and making it a bi-annual event.

Me with the legendary reclusive Jeffrey Koh of Flabslab (above image). Whatever cool toy he doesn’t see, he’ll make … and sell.
