This Blog is about a Super Nice Genius – STEVE WOZNIAK.

To me – Without Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs would not have any original crunchy magical Apples to sell.

Wozniak is easily one of the most positive, relaxed legends I have ever had the pleasure and honour to have hung out with in my life. I’ll never forget one of the earliest things he said to me, “Friends do things for friends.”

Speaking of friendship, I always advise my friends on how to live a less complicated Life – “Sort out the Givers from the Takers.”

Our first meal together in a cramped non-descript deli in a shopping centre (image below). Nobody in the deli knew who this IT icon woz.

I share some fun Woz moments with you below.

Fun Woz Anecdote 1 – The watch Woz was wearing on his wrist is the Rolex Explorer 1, black dial model (above image). Coincidentally I’m wearing the Rolex Explorer 2, white dial. Relaxing with our Rolexes!

Fun Woz Anecdote 2 – I told Steve I knew Roger McGuinn of the Byrds and that Roger and his wife was recently at my home. Steve replied he was going to meet Roger the following week.

Steve is a genuinely fun guy, always game for anything. So I took a few impromptu varying portraits of him (above image). Years later, he got his wife Janet to pose with him at this same spot.

I took the B/W portrait of Woz (image below) when he sitting on my sofa in my living room with my portraiture 85mm f1.2 lens.

Always nice to engage in fun discussion with the Gentle Genius (above and below images by Ace Cheong).

Fun Woz Anecdote 3 – Once Steve woz in my car and he had to take a call on his mobile phone. The call lasted a few minutes, after which he asked me to guess who the caller was. I had no idea. He replied “Tim Cook“.

Always an honour for me and my family to grab a bite with Woz at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Fun Woz Anecdote 4 – During lunch one day, Woz asked my son what mobile phone he was using. My son proudly replied “Samsung!” My jaw immediately dropped to the floor. Immediately Woz reached into his pocket and conjured out a Samsung phone. “See? Samsung!” Phew! Then he proceeded to take out Motorola, Nokia, and a few other brands, including Apple of course.

Fun Woz Anecdote 4A – I then warned him about the combined radiation power of the multiple phones in his pocket. He replied he used to have over ten mobile phones in his pockets. Ballsy!

Woz’s been to all the Hard Rock Cafes around the world. Rock on, Dude!

A major music fan, it woz an honour to have Steve hang out in the music room at my home.

He single-handedly bankrolled the two legendary US Festivals in 1982 and 1983. It was regarded as the Woodstocks of the 80’s.

It showcased the line-up of iconic bands like Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Police, Talking Heads, Clash, Ramones, B52’s, Santana, Cars, Grateful Dead, Kinks, Pat Benatar, and Jackson Browne etc. And that was only for the 3-day 1982 Concert!

The 1983 4-day Concert line-up included big names like U2, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, David Bowie, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Clash, Pretenders, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Men At Work etc,.
