Intergalactic Superheroes 2026

Intergalactic Superheroes 2026

On 27 and 28 February 2026 (Friday and Saturday), I attended the Davos Summit of Intergalactic Superheroes. The actual event is called Chingay Parade 2026.

As always, the fun event is held at the F1 Building, the site where the iconic F1 Night Race is held in Singapore. This year marks the 53th Anniversary of the event which started in 1973, first mooted by Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

The Chingay Parade these days takes on a multi-cultural and inter-planetary flavour – a fun, colourful, loud and exciting two-day event showcasing different communities living harmoniously as one united people. This year, besides Singaporeans performing, we have our friends from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, India and Brazil, involving a total of 3,000 participants.

This year, I hung out with my galactic tribe, the Star Wars 501st Legion Singapore Garrison buddies. Thanks for the invite, guys! Do read my previous blog – “Intergalactic Superheroes 2024”.

Enjoy the fun images of the Chingay Parade 2026 event below.

Mr. and Mrs. Chew (above image). Chewbacca (Alfred Lim) and his real-life Wife. The first time that I met Alfred’s wife, he said she’s “Mrs. Chew“. Took me a good 5 seconds to get the joke. Chew is an authentic Chinese family name.

Crisis? What Crisis? (above image). When Darth Vader’s away, the Clone Troopers will skive. Note: the man on the right, looks at excessively jubilant Hansen Khoo (white Clone Trooper) to see what is wrong with him. Jasper Tan (black Clone Trooper) is wisely masked and safely armoured.

Chewbacca With His Bird Friends – 1 (above image). I warned him not to eat the birds, dinner will be served later – Honey Cajun Porg Combo Deluxe.

Note: A Wookiee’s daily dietary requirement must be at least 6,000 calories. Big boy, big food.

Crazy Lo Hei Yu Sheng Toss

Crazy Lo Hei Yu Sheng Toss (above image). After all the parade chores were done and dusted, a time to celebrate.

Yu Sheng (Lo Hei) is a symbolic Cantonese-style raw fish salad, eaten in Singapore during Chinese New Year to usher in prosperity, abundance and vigor. Diners toss the ingredients together while joyously shouting auspicious phrases, believing tosses bring greater fortune, success, and increased prosperity. Huat Ah! (Prosper!)
