Empty Happy Bottles

Empty Happy Bottles

This is a short blog about the Shortness of Life and the Prompt Usage of our Precious Treasures. Do Not Wait. Delay No More.

I tell my young artist friends it’s not how Long one lives, that’s up to God’s pleasure or the luck of the Mortal Draw. More important, it is how Deep one lives. In short, what you Do with your limited time.

It’s not about one’s Age, it’s one’s Mileage!

I love commercials (apparels, designer toys and drinks) brands when they do collaborations with famous iconic artists that I respect.

Coming immediately to my mind – Uniqlo with Kaws, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koon etc. Absolut vodka with Andy Warhol.

My Favourite Empty Liquor Bottles (above image). From left to right – Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon, Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door Tennessee Bourbon, Absolut Vodka Andy Warhol exclusives. I have kept the empty bottles as decorative art works and for fond memories.

I am not into excessive alcohol consumption. As I tell my close friends, I probably consume a maximum of two bottles of red wine / one bottle of single malt whisky a year. And probably a maximum of thirty bottles of beer a year. All amongst the company of fun, creative and laughter-filled buddies.

My Favourite Absolut Vodka Bottles (above image). An ardent, spirited Absolut Vodka fan gifted me these empty cool bottles. Rock, Disco and Denim (Hotel California?) Editions.

“We haven’t had that spirit here since 1969”.

“Some dance to remember, some dance to forget”.

My Grateful Dead “DEAD RED: unwine” Red Wine Bottle (above image). Bought years ago, in San Francisco in the 1990s.

Once a dear Macallan Scotland top-management friend gifted me a numbered “96/1002 RE-AWAKENING” Limited Release Series (above image). Double-digit! I subsequently gifted this bottle to a renown fine-dine restaurant owner who did a big favour for my children. She tells me it remains unopened till this day, perhaps drinking it on a mega-special occasion on one of these fine days.

I have two uncorked expensive limited-edition bottles of Macallan single-malt whiskys in collaboration with Albert Watson (Sherry Oak 20 Years Old) and Sir Peter Blake (2021 Special Edition) in my storage, waiting to be consumed at the right moment with close friends.

The point of this blog is my urge to my readers – to use that bottle of expensive perfume meant for special occasions, use that expensive fountain pen to write an appreciative note to a dear friend, give that forgotten record album a listen, wear that “waiting-for-right-occasion” cool jacket, wear that expensive watch or ring. Speaking of cool jackets, do read my “Canadian Tuxedo” blog.

Start using that expensive porcelain tea set for your daily breakfast with your loved one(s) because every living day is a special celebratory occasion.

Remembering buying that bohemian leather-bound Journal at the overseas flea market to jot down your creative and entrepreneurial ideas and game plan? Well? A million-dollar IPO bounty awaits you.

Now or Never!
