This is my fashion tribute to the “Canadian Tuxedo“. A “Canadian Tuxedo” is a fashion term for wearing a denim jacket/shirt with matching denim jeans.
The term originated from a 1951 incident involving Bing Crosby who was denied entry into a fancy hotel in Vancouver for wearing denim.
Levi’s consequently created a custom tuxedo jacket for Bing Crosby to prove the fabric was “appropriate” fashion wear.
Stars who have adorned the Canadian Tuxedo over the years include the individual Beatles, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, etc.

My Levi’s 150th Anniversary Trucker Jacket (above image). All jackets patterns are subject to random arrangements. I’m lucky my jacket has the full “Levi’s” words nicely aligned on both sleeves.

My Levi’s Hickory Blazer Jacket (above image). I will wear casual Levi’s blazers, complimented with coolpocket square, to formal corporate meetings and business seminars.

My “Elvis” T-shirt (above image). Acquired from Europe.

My Momotaro 6-Pocket Jeans and Bermudas (above image). Unfortunately discontinued. I love this improved replica of a popular vintage 1970sLevi’s “Bush” jeans design. Thick and Heavy. Nothing like a pair of Japanese artisanal heavy denim.

My Levi’s Engineered Jeans (above image). Levi’s Engineered Jeans (LEJ) were a thing in 1999.

My Denim Jeans Paraphernalia (above image). Collaboration between Levi’s, Bearbrick, A Bathing Ape and Absolut Denim Vodka.
There are thousands of jeans brands (with or without selvedge) these days, with prices ranging from the exorbitant to the working class. Visvim, A.P.C., Rag & Bone, Ralph Laurent, Momotaro, J Crew, True Religion, G-Star Raw, Acne Studios, iron Heart, Evisu, 7 For All Mankind. Muji, Uniqlo, etc.
In these retyred, no-fuss days of mine, I walk the earth in my Uniqlo, Levi’s and Muji denims. In that order.
Be a Proud Working Salt-Of-The-Earth, wear your Canadian Tuxedo!
