Bill Medley (bass-baritone) is one half of the legendary Righteous Brothers. His other half is the late Bobby Hatfield (tenor).
“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” is one of my all-time favourite songs. It was produced by the late legendary Phil Spector, famed for his Wall Of Sound studio production style.
The legendary song was covered by countless artists including Daryl Hall & John Oates in 1980. It also appeared in Top Gun movie with Maverick (Tom Cruise) and Goose (Anthony Edwards) doing an off-key but spontaneous karaoke duet in a flight school base bar.
I was super-thrilled to hang out backstage with my childhood music idol.
The Righteous Brothers moniker came about when the U.S. Marines from the El Toro marine base started calling them “righteous brothers”. At the end of performances they would shout “That was righteous, brothers!” and would greet them with “Hey righteous brothers, how you doin’?”
Me hanging out backstage with my Righteous Music Hero!
Chill-time backstage, moments before heading to the stage to entertain his eagerly awaiting fans.
He sang all his evergreen hits including “Unchained Melody”, “(You’re My) Soul And Inspiration”, (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” a duet with Jennifer Warnes from the movie “Dirty Dancing” as well as “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” from the Rambo III movie.
“You Ain’t Heavy, You’re My (Righteous) Brother”
Bill Medley is Numero Uno in my books!
Bill Medley and his talented and gifted daughter, McKenna.
A proud Daddy.
“BM” Ring. I had the privilege of sitting next to Bill during his post-concert Meet & Greet session. He was 100% attentive to all his gathered fans.
Post-concert backstage banter among old friends (left to right) – Sonny Turner (lead singer of The Platters), Bill Medley and Jack Daniels.
I got Bill Medley to strike a relaxed pose (with undone tie!) in the seats after the concert crowd had vacated the concert hall.
I seriously had The Time Of My Life hanging out with my Music Hero Legend!
Thank you so much, Mr. Bill Medley!
