This is a Blog about Finding Yourself and steadfastly Being Yourself. And some fun and wise pointers to get on smoothly in Life.
“The world inside is bigger than the world outside.” – Rumi.
Open your Mind before your Mouth.
There are many people out there that are very ready with their eloquent words of advice. When you scrutinise their Deeds, there are none to be displayed or admired. That’s why I am not on any social media – unnecessary, anonymous noise. I rather read great autobiographies.
“A man of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds.” – Robert Putnam.
“Should” Is A Word Best Used By Those Who Did. – E.S.
“Should” is the cheapest word in the vocabulary of a Non-Doer. They use it sparingly. You should do this or do that but they who talk most, have done or accomplished the least. Talk is cheap.
“Could” is another cheap word. May you never utter, “I could have … but didn’t follow-up.”
Speaking of cheap, “Anything that cost money is cheap.” – John Steinbeck.
I have always cautioned – never listen to backseat drivers especially those without driving licenses.
Gossip dies when it hits the ears of a wise person.
Alas, the Problem of Psychology – “The right brain got nothing left and the left brain has got nothing right”.
“Stay away from negative people, they have a problem for every solution.” – Albert Einstein.“
“Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a heaven for?” – Robert Browning.

My “FAX YOU” Used US Missouri 1996 Car License Plate (above image). My tongue-in-cheek answer to those backseat drivers without driving licenses, telling me what I should do. Go fax yourself.
Ironically those truly successful ones are too busy giving you advice. But I suspect if you ask them nicely, they will gladly give you their time of the day. I personally found that the great ones are always the gracious and encouraging ones. I do know a few of them, some of whom are featured in the Websight and mentioned in my Blogs. Like themselves, they also want you to succeed.
Failing which, go read plenty of successful people’s autobiographies. Autobiographies are famous and successful people’s condensed life lessons and ascension to greatness. Like I tell my buddies, if I get a u$eful tip or two from a $30 book, it’s worth the price of the book.
The best place to find yourself is to go within yourself. You know yourself best. You walk your own chosen journey. The trick is to Keep Walking. They say the best way to solve a problem is to walk through it.
“A fool prays for an easier road, a wise man prays for stronger legs.” – Chinese proverb.
Soren Kierkgaard said it best – “Life can only be understood backwards but it must be lived forward.”
Speaking of backwards and forwards – “DAMMIT I’M MAD”. (It’s reversible!).
“If you ask the right questions, the answers will come” – E.S.
Speaking of asking questions – never ask a barber if you need a haircut.
Those who frequent this Websight or read my Blogs, knows I belong to fun cosplay tribes– the Star Wars 501st Garrison and Elvis Impersonators. These are die-hard fanatics who get together and pursue their hobbies. I wish to highlight a cautionary warning on Financial Cosplayers – those who pretend to be ultra-rich. They dress up in expensive and garish clothes, flash their fashion accessories. and drive their loud and fast cars (in reality, the banks own the cars via the drivers’ car loans).
“Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.” – Will Rogers.
“That man is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest.” – Henry David Thoreau.
People don’t remember books, they remember sentences.
The following are a few wise sentences (adages) that I happily kept in my memory and heart. Enjoy the wisdom.
“If you damage someone’s life with lies, consider it a loan, it will come back with interest.”
Money managers do not lose their money, they lose your money.
“We rather be roughly right than be precisely wrong.” – Lord Keynes
“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” – Henry David Thoreau.
“Ultimately, nothing should be more important to investors than the ability to sleep soundly at night.” – Seth Klarman.
“If you don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.”
“The colour of truth is grey” – Andre Gide.
“I train like I never won. And I compete like I never lost.” – Eileen Gu.
“After the game, the king and the pawn go back into the same box.” – Italian proverb.
“What is the difference between like and love?”, a student asked his teacher. The teacher answered, “When you like a flower, you pluck it. When you love a flower, you water it daily.”
“The best revenge is not to be like your enemy.” – Marcus Aurelius.
I leave my favourite profundity with you –
“The darker the night, the brighter the stars. The deeper the grief, the closer is God” – Apollon Maykov.
