Kith and Keen

Kith and Keen

This is a fun food-themed blog about Kith and Kin. We all need friends in this vibrant and troubling world. I meet up with fun and reliable friends for meals 2-4 times a week. I catch-up with old friends, and more importantly, make new friends every week.

Hovering above the Kith is my Kin (Family).

My Family ranks Numero Uno in my Life.

My Friends, fun and reliable, are a Close Second. The blog title is playful take on how Keen I am on my beloved friends. Good friendship is earned. I have learned much from my friends, especially during enjoyable meals. This blog is tribute to my meal buddies.

“Kith and Kin” is an old phrase meaning acquaintances and family.

When I was young, in my travels I focused on the Places (tourist attractions). These days I focus more on People. Specifically sharing fun and memorable times with them. And yes, bonding over Food.

My friends know I am not a foodie. I treasure more the Company (buddies) I eat with. The ancient and delightful art of “breaking bread”, fellowshipping with food, sharing in equal tales of mischief and wisdom. My only stipulation about the food in front of me is that it shouldn’t squirm. I eat with everyone from all aspects of Life.

The following pictures are some fun, crazy moments I broke bread and shared hearty laughters with my buddies from all walks of my Life – spiritual, inter-galactic, rock and roll, hobby, high technology, academic, childhood etc. Eating in school canteens, private clubs, neighbourhood pizza joints, seaside restaurants, concert venue green rooms, Hard Rock Cafes, hawker centres, etc.

Reliable friendship must be earned, not bought.

Laughter is a joyful lubricant that brings heaven closer to earth.
