This is a Blog about Village People.
In my Village People CD Singles collection are their hit songs – “Y.M.C.A.”, “In The Navy” and “Macho Man”.
I had earlier written a blog on “CD Singles”. I thought Village People deserved to have their own Blog.
Whenever I play my three Village People CD Singles, these songs never fail to put a Bounce in my Paunchy Abdomen. Laugh if you wish; this is a happy blog site.

“Macho Man” features 4 Remixed (1993) hit versions.

I am honoured to have hung out with the “Cowboy”, Randy Jones in an invite-only party in New York City.
In 2020, “Y.M.C.A.” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In March 2020, the Library of Congress described the hit song “Y.M.C.A.” as “an American phenomenon”. Even the Republican and Democrat parties used this music anthem in their respective 2024 presidential campaigns.
In the US, the purpose of YMCA housing was built to provide single room occupancy (SRO) facilities in the 1880’s to house people from rural areas who moved into cities to look for jobs. By the 1970’s, the typical YMCA tenants were mostly homeless people and youth facing life issues. Do go to Wikidepia for details about the band, their hit songs and interesting related back stories.
My American college buddy Brian Cheng always reminds me I was staying at the YMCA (cheap student dormitory) whilst pursuing my BBA degree, right next to the campus. I had my very own room at the top floor. It takes me slightly over a minute to walk to my Business Academic Building which was just across the street.
Keep on rocking the air waves, Village People!
