Debbie Gibson’s Memoir

Debbie Gibson’s Memoir

Today (14 September), Sunday) is a highpoint in my Photography Journey!

This afternoon, on a sunny Sunday(!), I received Debbie Gibson’s long awaited memoir – “ETERNALLY ELECTRIC: The Message In My Music”.

Debbie honoured me by featuring my b/w image of her concert in Singapore in her only freshly-released memoir (image below). It is the ONLY concert image she featured in her memoir.

Deborah Ann Gibson (born 1970) released her debut album “Out Of The Blue” at the tender age of 16 years old. Debbie wrote and produced the album, enjoying several international hits. It was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Her single “Foolish Beat” made Gibson the youngest female artist to write, produce and perform a Billboard Hot 100 #1 single.

Debbie’s iconic “Electric Youth” album, released in 1989, spent five weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 for three weeks.

Debbie was recognised by ASCAP (Association Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) as Songwriter of the Year, along with Bruce Springsteen, in 1989.

At the age of 17, she had 20 people under her employment. Do google for details of Debbie Gibson amazing music career and achievements/accolades.

Currently at 55 years old, Debbie still tours relentlessly. She was in Singapore last year (April 2024) and I had the honour of hanging out with her and photographing her awesome sold-out one-night-only “Electric Youth 35th Anniversary” concert. She loved my shots and featured some for her official media outlets, including (now) her memoir.

ETERNALLY ELECTRIC: The Message In My Music” (above image) arrives at my home this Sunday afternoon (14 September). Christmas has arrived early this year!.

“Thank you, Singapore!” (above image). The ONLY concert pix Debbie featured in her awesome memoir! In B/W!

Plus Debbie ends the last page of her memoir with my beloved Singapore concert image!

I am mighty proud to have put Singapore on the global music map!

Debbie’s memoir is sold in cool and established bookstores worldwide as well as major online stores.

I also want to gratefully thank Dame Olivia Newton-John, Chris Stein (Blondie) and May Pang (John Lennon’s Lost Weekend legacy) for including me in their best-selling autobiographies and memoirs.

Do read my “Debbie Gibson” and “More Debbie Gibson” blogs.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, DEBBIE!
