This is a short blog about the Pet Shop Boys (PSB) Disco dance remixes album series – Disco 1, Disco 2, Disco 3, Disco 4, and Disco 5 – 1986 to 2025. Spanning 40 years!
These albums are compilations of dance-oriented remixes of PSB tracks as well as their collaborators as well as B-sides from PSB’s singles and unreleased songs.

I was intrigued by the collaborations Pet Shop Boys had with interesting artists eg. Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Madonna, Rammstein, the Killers, Tina Turner, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Soft Cell, Arthur Baker, Shep Pettibone, Brain Eno, Trevor Horn, amongst many other cutting-edge musicians.
These days I listen to more and more feel-good “forget-what’s-out-there” disco music – mindless, harmless, happy songs. Blissful escapism even for a while is crucial to one’s sanity.
I first bought Disco 4 (2007), 3 (2003), and 5 (2025) albums. Then I decided to complete the series and proceeded to get 1 (1986) and 2 (1994) (which arrived today).
I have been to their electrifying sound and light show concerts numerous times over the decades and not one was a let-down. Not to mention, their innovative, leading-edge space-age costumes!

Here’s what I admire about Pet Shop Boys – they keep things to a minimum ie. two of them. And (pet shop) boy do they gel, as in not a word against each other in the press over the decades since they started making great music.
They are a longevity band, with a vast wellspring of creativity, they get on with it, they do not disparage other artists, or give commentaries on negative current events, they are never late in appearing for their concerts, they are not known for cancelling shows, they keep their concert banters to a minimum, their album outputs through the decades are consistently great.
No fuss / no egos / just great fun music.
