Left Is Right

This is a fun, left-field, tongue in (left) cheek, pun-filled Blog on Lefthanders.

Relax, enjoy the read, don’t get left behind. There’s a reason why they gratefully call it Leftovers, not rightovers.

As a Southpaw Artist and Photographer, if the “left-field” means unusual, surprising, odd, strange and unexpected, I’ll take it.

There is roughly 90% of right-handers compared to us (10%) left-handers. We are the unique Ten Percenters!

13 August is International Lefthanders Day. A day after my lefthanded birthday.

Us, left handed / right-minded honchos are never afraid of being scrutinised (above image). We do what we do.

Let’s stay positive, get on with it. They say – “Do what’s right and God will do what’s left.”

Even as a young lad, I’ve never complained that the scissors, can openers, spiral notebooks and fountain pens were made for righthanders, I just got on with Life. I have always used ball-point pens so there was never the “ink smudge on left palm” problem.

My three sisters are righthanders whilst my brother and I are lefties. Go figure. Thanks, mom and dad!

I thank God that pressing the camera shutter with my right index finger is natural for me. Not to mention my left focusing eye.

Mollydooker is an Australian slang for lefthanders. Been in use since the 1930’s, the term came from the British dialect brought to Australia giving lefthanders a bad connotation – awkward, doubtful and clumsy. Try telling this to the lefthanded luminaries listed below.
