Last evening, 25 April 2024, I shot my most meaningful portraiture series (on-going).
This Portraiture Series are focused on my Special Buddies at the annual Strength Fiesta event organised by NCSF Uplift, a charitable movement that allows people with special needs to benefit from strength training programs. Volunteers run this program each week. more than 120 Buddies go through 1-2 hours of personalised training sessions.

What took my breath away was the Love, Care and Respect shown to these Buddies during the Event, and I’m sure back at their respective Homes.
The Mastermind behind this wonderful, fun, kind event is Chung Tze Khit (above image).
Months ago, Khit had asked me to drop by if I am free that evening but I immediately told him I want to be Involved (with a capital l).
I got a dear creative friend to make these cheerful, technicoloured, rainbow “I’M SUPER SPECIAL / I’M A SUPERHERO” flight tags (above image). Thanks, Jeffrey Koh of Flabslab.

My involvement was two-fold – to 1) take poignant portraitures of the Special Buddies and 2) give them a cheerful flight tag each as a token of my appreciation and I want them to know they are my personal Superheroes.

I relied on Canon RF 85mm f1.2 L lens, on a Canon R3 camera, for these portraitures and RF 24-70mm f2.0 L lens, on a Canon R6 Mk2 camera for other fun event scenes.
